Can you explain the importance of pH balance in dog grooming and how Plush Puppy ensures their products support skin health?
On a standard scale a human’s pH level is around 5.5, whereas a dogs is more neutral at approximately 7.5pH. The pH level describes the level of acidity in a substance. The lower the pH level, the more acidic it is.
Human shampoos are far more acidic than dog shampoos and can therefore irritate the dogs skin and coat. Over time acidic shampoos can strip away the hairs natural protective qualities, removing beneficial oil from the coat and skin, resulting in dry, irritated skin and a dull coat.
